Shared mobility refers to the shared use of a vehicle, bicycle, or other transportation modes.
It is a transportation strategy that allows users to access transportation services on an as-needed basis. Shared mobility is an umbrella term that encompasses a variety of transportation modes including carsharing, bike-sharing, peer-to-peer ridesharing, on-demand ride services, micro transit, and other modes.

Every year, the LA 21 Working group “Climate protection and Mobility” of the City of Rostock in cooperation with many partners, organises a car-free day in September.
The introduction of a mobility point involves the involvement of various stakeholders, such as the Department of Transportation, Public Transport Operator, Maintenance Department, Car and Bike Sharing Companies, local large companies and, of course, members of the public and local communities. It is therefore necessary to bring together the views and interests of the stakeholder group to develop and implement the Mobility Points concept. This case study has been created as a part of the cities.multimodal project.
The Belgian city of Ghent and the Italian city of Milan received an international recognition for car-sharing promotion and support policies. During a digital event held on 28 May, the cities were announced as the winners of the CSA Carsharing City Award in the categories ‘regional cities’ (less than 750,000 inhabitants) and ‘metropolitan cities’ (more than 750,000 inhabitants).
MilanThe city of Milan won the award for metropolitan cities, staying ahead of Munich, Vancouver, Madrid, Paris and Calgary.

This workshop follows LOW-CARB's final conference where project goals, outputs, impacts, & lessons will be presented.
The exploitation workshop will build on this by mobilising, networking, & matchmaking stakeholders. In the first part of the workshop participants are given the opportunity to engage with select project pilots, products, & longer-term implementations, as well as their organisers, to help further their take-up & larger-scale adoption and deployment across Central Europe, thus facilitating a cohesive transition to low-carbon mobility.
