Shared mobility refers to the shared use of a vehicle, bicycle, or other transportation modes.

It is a transportation strategy that allows users to access transportation services on an as-needed basis. Shared mobility is an umbrella term that encompasses a variety of transportation modes including carsharing, bike-sharing, peer-to-peer ridesharing, on-demand ride services, micro transit, and other modes.

CIVITAS Forum Conference 2021

The CIVITAS Forum is a bi-annual event hosted by the CIVITAS Initiative that celebrates, promotes and encourages sustainable cities and sustainable urban mobility advancement across Europe.

Hosted this year in Aachen, Germany, the conference will be guided by the central theme 'Smart routes towards climate-neutral cities'.

The CIVITAS Forum 2021 will take place on 20-21 October 2021. It is a hybrid conference, with participants joining on-site in Aachen (Germany) and online.

Shared Mobility Rocks

Join Shared Mobility Rocks, the unconventional symposium about shared mobility for planners, operators and research institutions.

The 4th edition will take place on 25 May 2022 in Bremen, the city with the first Car-Sharing Action Plan and leading partner of the SHARE-North programme.

Shared Mobility Rocks 2022 will be the final conference of the SHARE-North project that started in 2017.

#SMR2022 is a co-organisation between the City of Bremen, Autodelen.net and Mpact.

Turin is looking for volunteers to test a 12-month MaaS trial

The city of Turin, in the north of Italy, has called for residents to volunteer to take part in a 12-month mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) trial. Applications opened on 2 July and will remain open until 2 August, and they are looking for up to 1100 participants. The trial will begin on 1 October 2021.

Free bike sharing subscription offered in Ravenna

In May 2021, the Italian Municipality of Ravenna approved a resolution to allow people to apply for a free annual subscription to the local bike sharing service. This was possible thanks to financial support from the Emilia-Romagna Region within its “Bike To Work” programme and aims to promote the use of bicycles when travelling around the city.
