Good transport planning is informed by reference to good practice elsewhere. Auditing and benchmarking help cities compare their plans and performance against that of others - not in a spirit of competition, but rather one of continuous improvement.

Breakfast at Sustainability's: SUMP 2.0 - Reshaping the EU SUMP Guidelines

The CIVITAS SUMPs-Up project is hosting an event on 12 December 2018, 09.15 - 13.00, in Brussels (Belgium), as part of the ongoing process to revise the EU SUMP Guidelines.

For local, national and European level officials working on SUMPs, this represents a prime opportunity to contribute to the next generation of the EU SUMP Guidelines and help shape EU mobility policy.

CIVITAS SUMPs-Up Romanian Mobility Practitioners Workshop

This CIVITAS SUMPs-Up workshop gives Romanian mobility practitioners the chance to discover essential information on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) from local and European experts. The topics chosen will be tailored to the national context.

Through a variety of interactive sessions and exercises and presentations, participants will discover more about different aspects of SUMP development and implementation and deepen your knowledge of the general SUMP approach.

Cities invited to join CIVITAS urban mobility study visits

City representatives are invited to apply to join two upcoming sustainable urban mobility study visits in Bristol (UK) and Stockholm (Sweden), organised by the CIVITAS Initiative.

The first study visit will take place in Bristol from 11-14 September and will comprise of site visits, which will enable participating cities to see first-hand the exciting sustainable urban mobility and urban development initiatives in the city.

Local decision makers: join the CIVITAS Politicians' Forum to exchange on urban mobility with peers

Politicians from CIVITAS Forum Network member cities are invited to attend this year's Politicians' Forum being held at the CIVITAS Forum in Umeå.

Taking place from 09:30 to 12:00 on 20 September 2018, the meeting will gather senior officials from local authorities across Europe who are leading the way in advancing sustainable urban mobility.

Panel discussions and conversation tables give delegates the chance to interact and exchange experiences with fellow politicians on this year's meeting topic - “Citizens' involvement, urban mobility, and politics”.

Application deadline extended for two CIVITAS Awards 2018 prizes

The application deadline has been extended for two categories of the CIVITAS Awards 2018 to 31 July 2018.

The Awards provide a unique platform for towns and cities to demonstrate their pioneering sustainable urban mobility activities. Winning can lead to a town or city achieving Europe-wide exposure for its work and become a role model that inspires others.

Mobility project SAVEMYBIKE nominated for RegioStars Awards 2018

The project SaveMyBike, launched in the Italian region Tuscany, has been nominated for the RegioStars Awards 2018; the award for the best Cohesion Policy project of the year.
The project is the only project that focuses exclusively on mobility among the 21 finalists shortlisted this year.
