Places still available for TRANSPORT LEARNING training events in January

Get your new year off to a great start and book yourself onto a free training event on sustainable transport being run by expert practitioners across Europe as part of the TRANSPORT LEARNING project.
The IEE funded TRANSPORT LEARNING project has developed high-quality training modules on sustainable transport topics which are designed to provide employees of municipalities and energy agencies with the skills and knowledge to carry out sustainable transport projects in their local regions.

1,400 people joined Friends of Eltis

More and more mobility professionals discover the benefits of the Friends of Eltis service. Earlier this week, the number of Friends of Eltis surpassed 1,400.
Italy has taken the lead with 137 Friends of Eltis. The other top 5 countries are Portugal (128), Austria (117), Germany (110) and Belgium (108). The only EU member state without any Eltis Friends is Malta.

Less public transport use associated with more traffic casualties (Belgium)

In car-friendly cities, the number of lethally and seriously injured is highest, according to an analysis by Flemish newspaper De Morgen.
New statistics from the federal government show that Kortrijk and Ghent are the cities with the most traffic casualties in Flanders (8.8 and 8.4 per 10,000 inhabitants respectively). Earlier, the Mayor of Kortrijk stated in the Flemish newspaper De Morgen that “Kortrijk is a car-friendly city. We want to remain so, but of course that entails certain risks.”
