In 2015 Sustrans will deliver two innovative street design projects as part of Bristol Green Capital: Street Pockets, a modular, freestanding and moveable toolkit to be used by communities to create street pockets that will instantly change the feel and use of any street in the city and Southmead Green Streets, a project that will help residents create rain gardens in Southmead to calm traffic and improve how their streets look.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant qualification, you will have experience of delivering a practical urban design focused project or similar which had community involvement as a core element and effective partnership working. With excellent written and verbal communication and visual presentation skills, you will have a high level of computer literacy, including knowledge of design packages. You will have the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships, experience of workshop design and facilitation and have an appreciation of wider urban design issues and sustainable transport nodes. You will have an understanding of local travel issues and be committed to the ideals of sustainable transport.
