Welcome to the second issue of the monthly Eltis Newsletter.

This month, we highlight the ‘Year of Multimodality’ announced by Violeta Bulc, EU Transport Commissioner, and how the European Commission will focus on raising the importance of multimodality for the EU transport system during 2018.

Other updates include news on:

  • the results of the Europe-wide analysis 'Higher Levels of Government and their support for SUMP in the EU';
  • the new Basel tram system connecting Switzerland, France and Germany;
  • the decision by Germany's Supreme Administrative Court to permit Urban Vehicle Access Restrictions (UVARs) on diesel vehicles.

There is still time to register for the 5th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), 14 and 15 May 2018 in Nicosia, Cyprus. For more information or to register, please visit the Eltis website.
