Welcome to the December edition of the Eltis newsletter.
As we reach the last month of 2020, we highlight that both the new European Commission Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and European Climate Pact have been announced, and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators (SUMI) benchmarking tool has been launched. ECF have published 27 country guides about unlocking cycling investments from EU Structural Funds, and European Mobility Week has invited you to vote for the favourite Mobility Action of 2020.
We also feature the latest urban vehicle access regulations seen across the EU, including news about a 30km/h speed limit that has come into force in various Spanish urban areas and is being considered by cities in other European countries, as well as the conclusions of an EU stakeholder seminar on speed and speed management.
We showcase the latest TRIMIS Digest focussing on fair and sustainable public transport and share some information about the three finalist cities of the 8th SUMP Award. We also provide details of some helpful materials that will assist in improving urban mobility planning. These include case study and video examples from Bergamo, Bielefeld and Thessaloniki, as well as an on-demand webinar that showcases dynamic visualisations for analysing road accidents and traffic conditions.
Please note that the Eltis website home page is frequently updated with details of useful online networking events and webinars. Many of these events are arranged at short notice, so it’s worth checking in on a regular basis.
Kind regards,
The Eltis team
