Welcome to the August edition of the Eltis newsletter.
This month we shine the spotlight on micromobility. Through two case studies, we feature the revolution of this mode of transport and the policy framework for eScooters.
We feature the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Slatina, Romania, as well as the importance of training for SUMP development and implementation. We also encourage readers to contribute to the draft Action Plans of the EU Urban Agenda, join the EIT Governing Board, and enter the next European Green Capital competition and the 2020 CIVITAS Awards (please note – the CIVITAS awards submission deadline has been extended to 2 September 2020).
We also remind you to register for Urban Mobility Days 2020 (which is taking place 29 September - 2 October) if you have not already done so.
Finally, we highlight the importance of the ROADPOL Safety Days campaign which features events planned for 16-22 September as part of the online EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK - and a call to action.
Please note that the Eltis team continues to highlight useful online networking events and webinars on the Eltis home page. Many of these events are arranged at short notice in response to coronavirus (COVID-19) so it’s worth checking in on a regular basis.
Kind regards,
The Eltis team
