Welcome to the April edition of the Eltis newsletter.
The Eltis team will strive to keep providing regular urban mobility focused updates via the Eltis website during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We have compiled a broad list of the pandemic mobility response measures that have been reported across Europe – and included a list of some information sources, guidance and official advice from the European Commission. Earth Day 2020 will take place on 22 April with the theme of taking action on climate change. However, as a result of COVID-19, this year will see the first digital Earth Day and those interested are encouraged to register for a digital event.
This month, we have highlighted a number of webinars that stakeholders can join online as well as events that will take place towards the end of the year.
Two new videos are also available that feature:
- An exploration of cycling measures in the Dutch city of Groningen, which hosted the 6th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans in 2019.
- The SUITS project supported by the EU’s CIVITAS initiative which focuses on sustainable urban mobility plans for small-to-medium cities. The SUITS project will also host a webinar on 5 May for all interested stakeholders.
You will also discover a range of news articles that highlight some extremely positive developments in road safety and collective passenger transport – and opportunities for urban mobility stakeholders to provide feedback on parts of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Directive or to join EIT Urban Mobility and share your expertise.
