Bulgaria's capital Sofia, implemented smart strategies and structures through the Sofia Urban Mobility Center to manage sustainable mobility in a very efficient way by combining planning and parking operations alongside public transport considerations.

The general parking policy set in the new Sofia SUMP is based on the idea that parking in a city is not a right, but a service that uses public resources and therefore should not be completely free.
