The “CIVITAS Legacy” awards rewards a city that has translated its commitment to the CIVITAS network and sustainable mobility into high-impact, innovative measures and inspires other cities for action.

• The greek city of Larissa has been involved in CIVITAS since 2016, was a founding member of the CIVINET CY-EL network and has active participation in the activities of the CIVITAS community. It has implemented an innovative package of mobility measures and policies (e.g. extensive pedestrianization scheme, the transformation of central roads to low-traffic streets and exclusively public transportation use, improvements for pedestrian and bicycle access). Larissa has also demonstrated a significant commitment to transnational cooperation for the promotion of sustainable urban mobility, despite being a relatively small city.
