
JASPERS organised nine local training workshops on sustainable urban mobility planning between September 2016 and February 2017.
The training course and its materials were designed to:
- explain each step in the SUMP process;
- present a range of best (and worst) practices for SUMP delivery;
- explain the need for and benefit of important aspects of SUMP development, such as stakeholder consultation, strategic environmental assessments, policy/project appraisal, and prioritisation;
- provide those consulting it with the information needed to successfully implement SUMPs in their local context;
- be tailored to fit the individual needs of the beneficiary.
A total of seven modules covered various SUMP-related themes. They were:
