CIVITAS e-course: access regulations

By News Editor / Updated: 13 Jul 2017

There are over 500 urban vehicle access regulations (UVARs) in Europe, controlling entry of vehicles to an area of a town or city. They are implemented to improve the quality of life in towns and cities.

Often ‘soft measures’ to improve the situation can only go so far, and UVARs are needed in combination with the soft measures.

This e-course, part of the CIVITAS Initiative's extensive catalogue of online learning, includes an introduction to the concept and objectives of access regulations, and gives local authorities guidance on where to start when considering whether to implement them.

It will help cities understand how to outline a scheme, present issues to consider, and describe the key ingredients to success.

The CIVITAS e-courses are individual courses that can be followed online, anyplace, anytime. Each e-course is concluded with an online test.

CIVITAS Learning Centre certificates are given to participants who have successfully passed the course. An e-course takes approximately 1-2 hours.
