European societies and health systems are suffering from the consequences of increasingly sedentary lifestyles. Urgent action is required to raise Europeans' level of activity, which requires the participation of many different actors to see more people adopting life-long healthy mobility behaviour. Encouraging more people to take up cycling is one good way to achieve this.
A cycling action is an initiative which raises awareness of the benefits of cycling to its target audience. The LIFE CYCLE project has produced a manual which comprises a collection of successful examples of cycling actions tested across Europe by the 10 organisations who were involved in the project. The manual is aimed at cycling associations, mobility professionals in the public and private sectors, and health professionals.
