
Low Emission Zones (LEZs) have clear benefits in reducing air pollution in urban areas, and are being successfully implemented in cities across Europe. However, the practicalities of implementing a LEZ involve more than simply putting up signs.
Good communication and enforcement of the rules is key to success. Therefore, the Clean Air Europe project has summarised the outcomes of a project meeting in Berlin, giving local authorities some brief pointers to improve and monitor their LEZs.
