EcoMobility SHIFT - assessing urban transport performance

By News Editor / Updated: 30 Jul 2015

Measuring the performance of an urban transport system is important for establishing measures and policies for improving its quality. This is particularly important in terms of improving the energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of transport.

The EcoMobility SHIFT scheme is a Total Quality Management system for cities to measure the performance of their urban transportation. The SHIFT scheme is made up of two central procedures: a procedure to assess performance and an audit procedure to have performance verified. Using the results of both components, a city can establish both short- and long-term improvement paths.
