Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is a strategic plan designed to satisfy the mobility needs of people and businesses in cities and their surroundings for a better quality of life. It builds on existing planning practices and takes due consideration of integrationparticipation, and evaluation principles.

European Commission's award for sustainable urban mobility planning

The aim of the European Commission's award for sustainable urban mobility planning is to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local authorities across Europe and to reward outstanding achievements in each year’s thematic priority area. The Winner of the 7th SUMP Award in 2019 was Greater Manchester – find out more about the SUMP Award and previous winners here.
