The exciting challenges of this role include the delivery of active steps initiatives across Tamworth, with specific responsibility for promoting the Active Travel for Health programme and volunteer / champion co-ordination. Active Steps encourages individuals with low activity levels to improve their physical and mental health through an intensive 12 week active travel programme, as part of the Local Sustainable Transport Fund ‘Access to Jobs, Training and Services in Tamworth’ project.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of delivering physical activity or other behaviour change projects, engaging with community groups and a wide range of partners.  You will also be experienced in leading group workshops, organising events and of building successful working relationships.  Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your strong written and verbal communication skills will complement your excellent interpersonal skills.  You will also be experienced in recruiting and supporting volunteers / champions.   IT literacy is essential as is an understanding of the health benefits of active travel and your commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport.  DSB Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.
