The Travel 2020 conference is the leading discussion forum of the future of passenger travel, and how new technologies and customer service approaches are changing the face of passenger transport.

It\'s a cross-modal event focused on the travel offer and experience rather than the hardware on which people ride.

Whilst vehicles and their specification are of crucial importance in determining the quality of public transport there is much more going on in the offer to customers that can affect their choices.

From information about services and how they are running to ease of purchasing a ticket or even not needing one at all, the whole way in which people relate to bus, train and also air and other forms of passenger transport is changing rapidly. Travel 2020 brings together innovators to share experiences, debate and do business.

During the two day event, we will have more than 60 expert speakers addressing keys themes around technological, customer service, product and management issues affecting the way in which passenger transport services are planned and delivered, and opportunities explored for new product offers and enhanced relationships with users.

Cutting edge technologies and innovations for ticketing and payment, transport modes and passenger information, customer service and operational development systems will be showcased with 70 stands spread over 2 floors.

Major conference themes include:
  • Payments Technology - will travel lead the NFC mobile phone transactions revolution? Is there still a role for the smartcard?
  • Information - the knowledge that guides travel decision making. Where is it all heading?
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and loyalty in travel - connecting with the audience and building understanding.
  • Pricing, Yield Management and Capacity Optimization - optimising revenue, addressing market niches and enhancing the sales offer for travel.
  • The Journey Experience - terminals, interchanges and the on-vehicle environment.
  • Service & Systems Design and management - harnessing the benefits of data-driven decision making and operational quality control.
  • Multi-Modal Offer and Combined Mobility - linking up public transport with the rest of the journey and interfacing with new attitudes to car ownership and use.
