TRA, the Transport Research Arena, is the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility.
TRA 2020 is themed 'Rethinking transport - towards clean and inclusive mobility' and brings together experts from around the world, to discuss innovations and the future of mobility and transport.
For four days, TRA 2020 will gather over 3000 decision-makers from research, business and public sector to discuss the latest research and innovation in the field of transport and mobility and provide over 100 sessions ranging from plenaries and strategic sessions to technical and scientific sessions.
Some of the key areas of focus include:
- The transport sector has a paramount role to play in ensuring the most effective responses to climate change in the short and long term.
- Users of mobility systems need to be put at the core. Mobility solutions need to be more flexible, inclusive and innovative.
- A new view of physical infrastructure; as an asset topped up with usable data and providing a platform for new services and applications. Lifecycle management must be redefined as a more sustainable asset management.
- Last but not least, as transport research contributes to policy-making at national and European levels, it is increasingly important to grasp the moment to carry forward the achievements from research and innovation to informed and sustainable decisions, and investments in better services and products.
