This is the introductory course of the Transport Masters Programme and is therefore most appropriate for engineers and planners in the early part of their career, or those transferring from a non-transport background. The course provides a discussion of:
  • The nature and extent of travel demand growth and the Government’s response
  • How individuals make transport choices
  • Forecasting future travel behaviour patterns (including Stated Preference and introduction to Logit modelling)
  • Rural, gender and disability policy issues
