Urban areas in Asia are characterised through tremendous transport-related challenges such as congestion, often-poor public transport infrastructure, air pollution, traffic accidents and noise.
The lack of high quality public transport systems often leads to citizens switching to private cars or using informal transport providers. As a result, in many Asian cities urban transport is dominated by private cars and the informal stakeholders.
The one-day regional training on sustainable urban mobility and urban planning in Busan (Korea) is organised within the framework of the Better Air Quality Conference.
This regional training aims to enable participants to obtain an overview on sustainable urban transport approaches in Asia and worldwide.
