MobiliseYourCity is holding two consecutive sessions on Mastering Mobility training on Urban Mobility Observatories:
- Session 1 | Building a robust urban mobility observatory from scratch on Tuesday, June 13 from 10:30 am to 12 pm CEST
- Session 2 | Demystifying technical aspects of urban mobility observatories on Thursday, June 15 from 10:30 am to 12 pm CEST
An Urban Mobility Observatory can be implemented as a Measure, Report, and Verification (MRV) tool allowing the follow-up of (i) the evolution of the urban mobility characteristics at the city level and (ii) the implementation and results of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
A simple and visual online tool has been developed for Ahmedabad, Kochi and Nagpur with the intent to make it replicable for other cities involved in the MobiliseYourCity Partnership.
The first session will present the process of collecting, analysing, and monitoring relevant data to understand mobility patterns within each city and evaluate the progress of the SUMP or Comprehensive Mobility Pan (CMP) implementation.
The second session will focus on the technical aspects of the developed platform as well as the opening of geospatial data in the context of Open Source and open data development. The architecture of the online tool and the application will be detailed.
After these two sessions, delegates will understand which key indicators to use to efficiently monitor urban mobility and have the information to take advantage of and contribute to this open-source project.
