INDIMO and the SPROUT Project are holding a joint webinar on 2 February 2022 called "Planning for a more inclusive transition of urban mobility".

The INDIMO project is a three-year EU-funded Horizon 2020 project that aims to extend the benefits of digitally interconnected transport systems to people that currently face barriers in using or accessing such solutions. Through the co-design of the INDIMO Inclusive Digital Mobility Toolbox, the project enables developers, policy makers and service operators to consider the perspective of the user when dealing with digital mobility solutions. The project has five pilot cities or regions that differ in size, spatial layout, and transport services: Emilia-Romagna, Antwerp, Galilee, Madrid and Berlin in order to meet its main objectives:

  1. improve understanding of the users’ digital transport systems' needs;
  2. improve knowledge about users’ personalised digital transport systems' requirements;
  3. co-create tools to help developers, operators and policy makers generate an inclusive, universally accessible and personalised digital transport system;
  4. foster the Universal Design approach throughout the planning and design process of digital applications and services;
  5. influence future policy by feeding project results into European, regional and local policy-making.

The main objective of the SPROUT project (Sustainable Policy RespOnse to Urban Mobility Transition) is to put cities at the centre of the urban mobility transition by building on the solutions to urban mobility challenges - related to both passenger transport and urban freight logistics - developed by six pilot cities: Valencia, Padua, Kalisz, Budapest, Tel Aviv, Ningbo. The project focusses on producing new and practice-based knowledge and tools, which will contribute to an evidence-based and innovative policy response to disruptive innovations in mobility.

The webinar, being held on 2 February 2022 at 15:00-16:30 CET, will bring together both projects to share their research results and explore synergies and opportunities for SPROUT pilot cities to make use of the INDIMO tools. The webinar will discuss the pilot use cases of Emilia-Romagna (INDIMO) and Valencia (SPROUT), both based on the installation of e-lockers, and see how they can benefit from each other by analysing the key stakeholders involved, challenges, barriers, drivers, benefits, differences, and commonalities.

The webinar will be also an opportunity to analyse how the INDIMO policy evaluation tool can be implemented and tested by the SPROUT cities, in this case Valencia, to formulate a more inclusive policy response that makes its e-locker an inclusive urban mobility solution.
