The municipalities of Parma and Reggio Emilia took part in a number of CIVITAS thematic co-operation activities and are also active members of the Political Advisory Committee (PAC).

Reggio Emilia coordinated also ENTER-HUB http://urbact.eu/enterhub, an URBACT project that promoted the role of railway hubs/multimodal interfaces of regional relevance in medium cities as engines for integrated urban development and economic, social and cultural regeneration.

In parallel with the PAC meeting, on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 July 2016, practitioners from other CIVITAS cities will see and learn how the two cities successfully connected their urban areas with rural/sub-urban territories and the wide area as a whole to long distance destinations via the new high-speed railway station Mediopadana.

A two-day event combining a study tour and a thematic workshop focused on integrated planning of transport interchanges and optimal seamless use of different transport modes and services.

The study tour is organised by CIVITAS WIKI and the municipalities of Parma and Reggio Emilia. The study tour is free and open to all transport practitioners and professionals.

CIVITAS WIKI will co-finance travel and accommodation expenses for a limited number of participants. Priority will be given to city representatives (up to two participants per city).
