This year's CIVITAS Forum Conference will take place from 19-21 September in Umeå, Sweden. The 16th edition of Europe's premier sustainable mobility event will bring together the CIVITAS community from across the continent and beyond.

Over three days, hundreds of policymakers, city representatives, academics, and practitioners will gather to debate pressing topics surrounding sustainable urban mobility and witness the pioneering solutions bringing cleaner, better transport to Europe.

The theme for this year's Forum is "Mobility for U and Me". Recognition is growing of transport’s social dimension and that transport systems need to be environmentally friendly, accessible to all, and the services they offer adaptable and effective enough to meet users’ diverse needs. With 2018 also declared the “Year of Multimodality” by Commissioner Bulc, the theme for this year's Forum is highly appropriate.

Participants once again have the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops and sessions on the most urgent issues in mobility and mingle with the most creative mobility minds in Europe.

When not out and about interacting, participants will hear from the Forum's prestigious speakers, including Lena Erixon, Director of the Swedish Transport Administration; David Zipper, Resident Fellow at the German Marshall Fund; and Maja Bakran, Deputy Director-General of DG MOVE.

2018's host is a smart and sharing city with an inclination for innovation. Located in northeast Sweden, it is one of the country's leading examples of sustainable urban development and has impeccable green credentials. A wide variety of site visits will enable participants to experience first-hand why this is the case.

It should also be mentioned that attendance is free of charge! Find the draft programme and information on travel and accommodation below.
