Many cities may find it a challenge to elaborate SUMPs which require a high level of stakeholders’ participation and establishing a detailed complex planning process. The conference will be organised with a view to supporting cities, focusing on the Baltic Sea Region, in their efforts to elaborate Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).
The main characteristics and different aspects related to the SUMP preparation and implementation process will be addressed and discussed in the conference. Several cities will present practical examples of their SUMP measures.
Among them is the City of Gdynia who is currently developing a next-generation mobility plan in cooperation with a variety of stakeholders and can be considered as a living laboratory for SUMP development. The conference will end with a site visit where participants will have a chance to get know some of the measures included in the Gdynia Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
The event is targeted especially at Baltic Sea Region cities.
