The 1st Conference of the CIVINET Greece – Cyprus Network will be held in OTE Academy premises at Marousi (Region of Attica), 9-10 December 2021, under the title “Greek Society towards the Challenge of Sustainable Mobility on the horizon of 2030”. CIVINET Greece-Cyprus is the Greek-speaking local network of CIVITAS. It was founded in 2018 and focuses on the promotion of Sustainable Mobility in Greece and Cyprus.The conference aims to inform the public and raise awareness of issues related to urban and sustainable transport, and to promote environmentally friendly, socially just, “smart” and efficient transportation modes. 

The conference will provide a forum for the exchange of innovative ideas, discussion of international trends and best practices taken from the Greek and European markets, within a framework of COVID-19 and climate change. The approach of the conference is to inform and develop vital networking between the local and international communities of stakeholders around the area of Sustainable Mobility.

The agenda for the conference is as follows:

  • Most effective practices and accomplishments of OTA (local authorities);
  • Institutional framework and funding;
  • Scientific presentations - European projects;
  • "Smart" transportation - implementation of public and private sectors;
  • Civil society and transportation.

The conference will consist of talks, presentations, some product try-outs, tours and entertainment nights. The main presentations will be streamed live. The second day of the conference will have an international focus and include key-note speakers from Europe. There will be simultaneous translations of Greek - English.
