Sustrans has a vision of a world in which people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and our environment. The role will play a key role in helping us achieve that by driving the news agenda, leading media work for our campaigns, promoting our work to policy and decision makers and supporting delivery of the full range of Sustrans activities.
This is a proactive role, focused on our key publications in the national and trade media. You will create and place stories and news content based on our own work and outcomes for media channels, including web and social media.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of leading and delivering high-impact media strategies / campaigns. You will have experience of crisis / reputation management, of working in a busy press office / communications environment and of operating at a strategic level. Your communications and interpersonal skills will be excellent and you will possess excellent news sense and be politically astute. You’ll be confident working both independently and with a busy team and you will be IT literate with a strong commitment to the ideals of the organisation.

Salary: £30,408 - £34,845 per annum (inclusive of a London Weighting allowance of £3,299pa) (dependent on relevant skills and experience)
