The MOBILITYACTION Award and EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award seek to reward excellence in mobility management and in raising awareness on sustainable urban mobility.

Each award scheme has separate, but complementary objectives. The submission deadline for this year’s MOBILITYWEEK Awards is 31 October 2023.

More information on both awards can be found here.

MOBILITYACTION Award

Civil society organisations, businesses, educational/health institutions, retail centres and other entities addressing mobility management issues may apply for the MOBILITYACTION Award.

Mobility management is a concept to promote sustainable transport and manage the demand for car use by changing travellers' attitudes and behaviour, in particular at the level of companies, organisations and institutions.

The promotion of sustainable urban mobility is at the core of the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign. MOBILITYACTIONS are included as a year-round component of this campaign, supporting mobility management and sustainable transport initiatives.

The MOBILITYACTION Award rewards participants demonstrating excellence in mobility management. This year’s award aims to place a spotlight on MOBILITYACTIONs focusing on mobility management and also addressing the annual theme Save Energy.

An independent jury of mobility experts will pick three finalists after the deadline of 31 October. The three finalists will attend an award ceremony in Spring 2024 in Brussels, and the winner will be announced live on stage.

EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award

The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award celebrates local authorities that excel in raising awareness on sustainable urban mobility during the main event week, from 16-22 September.

In order to apply for this award, local authorities must comply with three criteria:

  1. Organisation of activities focused on sustainable mobility during the dates 16-22 September;
  2. Implementation of one or more permanent transport measures; and
  3. Preparation of a ‘Car-Free Day’.

The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award is presented alongside the MOBILITYACTION Award at a joint award ceremony.

With more towns and cities joining every year, the campaign is widely recognised as a driving force towards sustainable urban mobility in Europe, and hundreds of towns and cities apply for the annual award every year.
