Quality of life in European cities

This Flash Eurobarometer, “Quality of life in European cities” (No 419), was conducted at the request of the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy to get a snapshot of people’s opinions on a range of urban issues. Earlier surveys were conducted in 2004, 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2016.

APTA Public Transport Fact Book

The Public Transportation Fact Book, published annually, contains national aggregate statistical data covering all aspects of the transit industry in the United States and Canada.

Major sections include an overview of U.S. transit facts, transit finances and operating statistics by modes of travel; transit vehicle characteristics and deliveries; facts and numbers relating to federal grants and the Federal Transit Act; and statistical trends of Canadian transit operations.

UNECE transport statistics for Europe and North America

The UNECE Working Party on Transport Statistics (WP.6) is an intergovernmental body dealing with the development of appropriate methodologies and terminology for the harmonization of statistics as well as the collection of data from Member States and the dissemination of this data. 

Data in the publications cover transport activity, transport equipment and transport infrastructure by mode (rail, road, inland waterway, maritime, intermodal and oil pipeline). General information on population, energy consumption, transport emissions and on road traffic accidents are also provided.

Transport Statistics Great Britain

Transport Statistics Great Britain (TSGB) is the UK Department for Transport's main statistical compendium publication. It describes the major statistical trends in the British transport sector, and is normally published in the final months of each calendar year.

ITF: Spending on Transport Infrastructure 1995-2011

The International Transport Forum (ITF) has collected and published data on investment and maintenance expenditure in transport infrastructure since the late 1970s. The latest survey covers 1995-2011.

In order to draw-up a summary of aggregate trends for selected countries, data has been calculated in Euros at both constant (2005) and current prices. In preparation for the ITF’s 2013 Summit on Funding Transport a survey was carried out to collect information on transport policies in ITF member countries and the information obtained is also summarised in the current report.

Mobility in East and West German urban areas (1972-2012)

These statistics give an overview of the development of mobility behaviour in urban areas in Germany. They cover the years from 1972 until 2012.

As it compares East and West Germany it shows, in a unique way, the different mobility behaviours of a socialist country before 1989 and the assimilation after the German reunification.
