Research vision and contribution for all transport and sustainable mobility community:

I have created a survey intended for individuals and organizations, who are concerned with Sustainable Mobility and Urban Development. The survey seeks to gain key insights into which factors best support change (modal shift) in cities, by better understanding the priorities, strategies and experiences of all who are concerned with this topic.

in the context of the starting European H2020 project MOBLITY4EU, I would like to know how many cities in Europe have developed SUMPs. Our first step in the project is identifying "societal trends" that have an impact on mobility/transport. Is there a dynamic in the domain of SUMPs, do many more cities develop such strategies that European institution want to see more and more developed?
Ideally I would like to get a live statistics, like those run by Eurostat or Urban Audit. I know I am a dreamer.

The Bremen Declaration was presented at the 3rd Annual European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans in Bremen (Germany) on 12-13 April 2016. The purpose of this document is to place the EU’s sustainable urban mobility planning guidelines firmly in the context of the reality of European cities.

In 2015, the city of Bristol has been Europe’s Green Capital. This was also an outcome of 40 years of environmental efforts with great progress in many areas. Now, Bristol is willing to help other cities around the world to “go green” by sharing its experience and knowledge about sustainability at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP21). The city is doing this through a free online toolkit called The Bristol Method (https://www.bristol2015.co.uk/method/) which documents everything Bristol has learnt from its year as European Green Capital so other cities can benefit.

The TOD Standard is a powerful tool to help shape and assess urban development. It focuses on maximizing the benefits of public transit and non-motorized mobility while placing the emphasis firmly back on the users: people.

Our SUMOSU STATION project –EIP SCC 5575- , which includes its own material infrastructure, proposes a roadmap for a Strategic Integration Plan (SIP) to contemporary cities which merges both their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans and their Action Plans for Sustainable Energy. Up until now, these two key urban planning tools on their own have been unsuccessful at reducing both traffic congestion and CO2 emissions in big metropolis, however, we are convinced that, when combined together in this new approach (SIP), they can solve sustainable mobility problems as well as the power challenges of a quick connection to smart grids. Have you had similar experiences? We are looking forward to reading about them.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) has recently undertaken a mid-term review of the 2011 EC Transport White Paper. Why is this significant? Well, the EESC has been around also long as the European Union and was set up in the 1950’s is a consultative body to provide a formal platform to express points of views on EU issues. Its opinions are forwarded to the Council, the European Commission (EC) and the European Parliament. In theory therefore it has a key role to play in the EU's decision-making process.
