Tetes de Bois do eco-concert in Bari (Italy)

The folk rock band Tetes de Bois will perform the songs of their latest album Goodbikes on a pedal stage in the port of Bari on the 15th September. The energy required for the concert will be produced by cycling, using 90 pedal stations plugged in to the stage.
The Transport Department of the Puglia Region in Southern Italy, in collaboration with the local association Post_la fabbrica della creatività and the agency Justintime has organised this eco-concert for the European Mobility Week 2011.

The program will start with a bike meeting in Piazza Diaz, along the seafront of Bari. Fans and participants will then ride to the concert venue where a group of technicians will help them to place their bikes on the pedal stations. A pre-registration as pedal assistant is needed and a turnover among bikers is scheduled during the concert.

Several public bikes will be placed in other parts of the city and in railway stations and will be available to rent for free to the participants. The carbon footprint of the event is therefore near to zero: both accessibility and energy are designed around bikes.

Tetes de Bois' songs tell bike tales and can be listened to on their myspace page: Tetes de Bois
