New Electric Bus for Osnabrück (Germany)

The transport company of Osnabrück has recently ordered a new electric bus manufactured by the Italian bus manufacturer BredaMenarinibus. The bus is powered by an electric motor with lithium- polymer accumulators, and will be the first operational electric bus in Germany.
The transport company of Osnabrück (Stadtwerke Osnabrück) has recently ordered a new electric bus manufactured by the Italian bus manufacturer BredaMenarinibus. The bus is powered by an electric motor with lithium- polymer accumulators, and will be the first operational electric bus in Germany.

The new bus referred to as “M 200 E Zeus”, is equipped with lithium- polymer accumulators with a weight of 500 kg and a maximum reach of 120 km. The batteries can be fully loaded at night or replaced very fast (Plug-in batteries).

The bus will be 5.89 metres long and 2.07 metres wide, with a passenger capacity of 21 people (9 seats and 11 standing places + one place for wheelchair users). The top speed is limited to 45 kilometres per hour. The minibus will be run the regular route service on the line between Neumarkt and Marienhospital.
