Foldable high-tech electric moped unveiled (Hungary)

By Jan Christiaens / Updated: 01 Aug 2014
A new futuristic-looking electric moped has been presented to the public in Hungary. It is electric, weighs 25 kilos and can be easily folded up and put into a car’s trunk or taken into a flat.
In spite of its ultra-light design it is a fully functional electric vehicle. When fully charged from an ordinary electric socket, its batteries allow a range of 35 kms. Being foldable, the moped is useful in many daily situations, although the designers primary target is commuters and holiday-makers.

The new vehicle, called ‘Moveo’ was unveiled to journalists at the Hungarian Engineering and Transport Museum. The creators, ‘Antro’, already have experience with manufacturing electric cars and will begin manufacture of the mopeds in a new custom built factory.

The mopeds were listed by Time Magazine as one of the 50 best innovations in 2010.
