Updated legal and privacy policy on Eltis


The Eltis Portal has updated its legal and privacy policies.

The documents have been revised to reflect the introduction of the new EU data protection regulation 2018/1725, which repeals Regulation (EC) No 45/2001. The regulation covers the protection of personal data processed by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data.

Europe to be given equal billing in an EV charging company's electric car grid plan


A Silicon Valley-based company, who supply charging hardware and software and run one of the world’s largest electric vehicle charging station grids, plan to divide a considerable expansion scope equally between United States (its home market) and Europe, according to the firm’s chief executive.

CIVITAS SUMPs-Up Webinar - “Starting up the SUMP process - Tools for SUMP”

As part of its package of learning activities for mobility practitioners, CIVITAS SUMPs-Up is organising its first webinar on Wednesday 5 December, 10:00 - 11:30 CET.

This will look at the topic of “Starting up the SUMP process - Tools for SUMP”. It will include a detailed presentation from the project's SUMP experts on the best tools to assist with the process of beginning a SUMP.

Following this, Kristina Gaučė from the city of Vilnius, Lithuania, will present a case study on their experiences of starting up the SUMP process.

Advanced Course on Mobility Management

During three years the STREET project (which is short for Sustainable Transport Education for Environment and Tourism) has produced a wide range of helpful materials in the field of Sustainable Transport and Mobility Management after meeting with and learning from relevant and experienced practitioners.

21 young graduates from all over Europe carried out four study visits in London (UK), Bled (Slovenia), Werfenweng (Austria) and Turin (Italy) exploring good practices and experience in the field.

Breakfast at Sustainability's: SUMP 2.0 - Reshaping the EU SUMP Guidelines

The CIVITAS SUMPs-Up project is hosting an event on 12 December 2018, 09.15 - 13.00, in Brussels (Belgium), as part of the ongoing process to revise the EU SUMP Guidelines.

For local, national and European level officials working on SUMPs, this represents a prime opportunity to contribute to the next generation of the EU SUMP Guidelines and help shape EU mobility policy.

Europe's top two-wheeled cities to share and inspire cycling excellence in HANDSHAKE project


HANDSHAKE, a new CIVITAS project, will support the take-up and transfer of successful cycling measures developed by three world-class cycling cities - Copenhagen (Denmark), Amsterdam (the Netherlands), and Munich (Germany) - to ten other cities across the EU.

INTERREG Europe’s policy brief on mobility plans


In October 2018, Interreg Europe’s Policy Learning Platform on Low Carbon Economy published findings and recommendations on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).

The policy brief drew on a number of relevant projects that have been supported by the programme. It looked at the needs and specifics of the SUMP concept and process, as well as recent developments.
