Eltis newsletter - May 2021

By jessdonnelly / Updated: 19 May 2021

Welcome to the May edition of the Eltis newsletter.

This month make sure to get involved with the #SlowDownChallenge for the 6th UN Global Road Safety Week. This week is focused on speed management and encouraging national and local commitments to 30 km/h speed limits. The 2021 #RoadSafetyWeek is an opportunity to promote walking, cycling and even swimming as fun, safe and sustainable forms of mobility.

Do not miss the Looking Ahead to 2030: A New Global Decade of Road Safety Action in Portugal, the EU and Africa event taking place on 20 May from 12:00 to 15:30. The event will be in two parts: the first session focusing on road safety in the EU and the second session on road safety in Africa.

Registration for EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK is now open, a pioneering campaign to raise awareness on sustainable urban mobility. The event will take place from 16-22 September ending with a Car-Free day.

The European Commission is conducting a study on the social dimension of the future EU transport system and is inviting stakeholders to contribute.

Finally, we share a case study exploring the benefits and disadvantages of free passenger transport, as well as a video looking at future proofing autonomous mobility in cities through the PAV project.

Please note that the home page of the Eltis website is frequently updated with details of useful online networking events and webinars. Many of these events are arranged at short notice, so it’s worth checking in on a regular basis.

Kind regards,

The Eltis team
