Shared Mobility Rocks

Join Shared Mobility Rocks, the unconventional symposium about shared mobility for planners, operators and research institutions.

The 4th edition will take place on 25 May 2022 in Bremen, the city with the first Car-Sharing Action Plan and leading partner of the SHARE-North programme.

Shared Mobility Rocks 2022 will be the final conference of the SHARE-North project that started in 2017.

#SMR2022 is a co-organisation between the City of Bremen, Autodelen.net and Mpact.

Dr. Joachim Lohse, Bremen’s Senator for Environment, Urban Development and Mobility explains how Bremen have managed mobility in Bremen, encouraging active travel over the use of private vehicles - and promoting the use of car sharing schemes as an alternative to private vehicle ownership.

The positive influence of the SUMP on travel behaviour in Bremen (long video)

The city of Bremen Bremen has managed to fulfil EU Air Quality requirements and has the lowest concentration of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) compared to other large German cities. 

In addition, Bremen has the highest cycling mode share of large German cities, focusing the objectives of their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan to shift priority to cyclists. As a result, the city achieves an active travel mode share of 23%. In total, private vehicles only account for 36% of modal share with the majority of journeys carried out using active travel modes (48%) or on public transport (16%).
