Relevance to SUMP – The term method
is used to distinguish between alternative approaches that can be applied at certain stages of the planning process. For example: a local authority can select from a range of different participatory methods when undertaking stakeholder and citizen involvement. Likewise, there is a range of qualitative and quantitative methods that can be applied when appraising mobility scenarios.
