Public Consultation as awareness raising campaign for sustainable urban transport in Cork, Ireland
The City of Cork in Ireland started a public consultation with the aim to to gain insight into the perceptions of the citizens of the issues and barriers to change in relation to sustainable transport. Responses to the survey inform how to proceed on developing a series of soft measures to promote a set of soft measures
Biking tours for the blind (Budapest)
Most blind people are physically healthy - yet the majority of them has rather constrained fitness due to the lack of physical movement. Partly this is caused by their particular disability and partly because of the generally still weak integration into society - especially in Eastern Europe. In recognition of this situation a Hungarian NGO called “Tomato Club” is organizing biking tours for the blind.
Preston Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) System, Preston, UK
Lancashire County Council installed UTMC in the City of Preston to link traffic signals, parking availability and air quality information to better manage traffic in order to achieve its policy objectives - particularly safety and accessibility. The experience has been a positive one for the Council and anecdotal evidence suggests that UTMC in Preston is achieving its objectives
The Annual Ankara “Streets are Open” Festival
The Kavaklıdere district of Ankara has been host to the annual “Streets are Open” Festival since 2007, aimed at increasing awareness among the general public of how they can better utilise the streets by reclaiming them from vehicular traffic, and use them as arenas for social and cultural events.

18 Electric Buses "Gulliver" are running regular urban bus lines in 6 capital of districts in Portugal right now. The introduction of electric Bus in Portugal was promoted by several years of events and demonstrations at local authorities. This was crucial to the acceptability of EV´s. Surveys of quality of service show very high rates of acceptance in every city.
CNG consumption monitoring and Ecodriving training in Cesena and Forlì
AVM SpA is a public transport operator running inter-urban and urban bus networks in the Province of Forlì-Cesena. The company runs around 12 millions bus-km/year with a fleet of over 350 buses. With the support of TRT, AVM designed a tailored pilot action in the framework of the FLEAT project to evaluate the potentials of both ecodriving and sustainable fleet management concepts for consistently reducing its fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.
