This exciting and challenging role will contribute to the charity’s strategic aims in Scotland by increasing levels of active travel through the management, development and delivery of major cycling and walking projects which will include planning, design and project management of construction in urban areas.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in civil engineering or urban design with a transport or engineering focus, you will have a proven experience of the design of works and execution of civil engineering contracts, including for high profile urban realm projects; of urban realm design and delivery; and of cost estimation and budget management. You will also have experience of bridge management, working in multi-disciplinary teams and of managing a team. You will have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships, the ability to write, let and award contracts from tenders and to manage the process of funding and grant applications. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enhance your influencing, negotiation and motivational ability. You will also be IT literate, have an in-depth knowledge of infrastructure design and best practice, a working knowledge of current H & S legislation and have a strong commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport.
