Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning Adapted to Mediterranean (SUMPA-MED)

The EU-project Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning Adapted to Mediterranean (SUMPA-MED) has been launched in Gaziantep, Turkey on December 25, 2009. The project aims at promoting sustainable mobility policies in Jordanian and Syrian cities and will be implemented during 3 years.

The main objectives are to transfer and adapt planning tools and measurement methodologies to reduce environmental impacts of mobility. SUMPA-MED tries to achieve this by encouraging the use of sustainable transportation modes. The project will be presented at the Cities for Mobility Congress in Stuttgart in July.
