May  Leipzig International Transport Forum 2010 Transport and Innovation Innovation is a driver of economic growth, and the transport sector needs to be innovative to be a driver of economic growth in a sustainable way. This is made more urgent by the present economic crisis. Innovation in transport will be fundamental in addressing a range of economic, social and environmental challenges, including efficiency, climate change and other environmental impacts, unemployment, and accessibility for persons with limited mobility. At the same time innovation is essential for safety and security. Ministers, key decision makers from industry, top researchers and representatives of civil society from more than 50 countries will come together at the International Transport Forum, the worldwide platform for transport, where they will focus on innovation and the transport sector\'s contribution to economy and society. Young Researchers Award - Call for Applicants - deadline 26 February 2010 The International Transport Forum will offer a “Young Researcher Award” to recognise a young researcher, or researchers, who submits the best research paper on the 2010 Forum theme: “Transport and Innovation”.
