International Cycling Conference 2017
To celebrate 200 years of cycling, the PASTA (Physical Activity Through Sustainable Transport Approaches) project, together with the German Environment Agency (UBA) and other partners, is pleased to announce that registration for the PASTA final conference and the 2017 International Cycling Conference (ICC) is now open.
The ICC will take place from 19 – 21 September in Mannheim (Germany) coinciding with celebrations to mark 200 years of cycling, and will host the PASTA final conference: Health-onomics of walking & cycling on 20 September.
The International Cycling Conference (ICC) is a three-day interdisciplinary conference, organised to bridge the knowledge and expertise of international researchers with city practitioners working in the field of transport and health. The conference will provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to discuss, explore and showcase good practice on how physical activity can be better integrated into our everyday lives, for a more active, healthier Europe.
The PASTA final conference will present findings from the two-year study which looked at the travel patterns of over in 10,000 residents in seven cities across Europe, and cover the following topics:
- Promoting safe walking and cycling to improve public health
- The “new Health Economic Assessment Tool -HEAT”
- Voices from the PASTA cities: the experience of policy makers
The PASTA final conference will open with a keynote speech from Deputy Mayor of Paris for Transport, Christophe Najdovski.
Cities and researchers with experience and expertise in these areas are invited to register for this event.
