Brussels, Belgium

In the year of Multimodality, the Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, and the Directorate-General for Transport and Mobility (DG MOVE) are inviting stakeholders to discuss the development of multimodal passenger transport in a conference dedicated to multimodality: Delivering EU-wide multimodal travel information, planning and ticketing services:  dream or reality?

While passengers increasingly combine different transport modes, they face various difficulties regarding their passenger rights, route planning and the ticketing process. The conference will present the opportunity to discuss current challenges with representatives from the public and private sector, including passenger rights organisations. The conference will also consider role of the advance of new technologies and the European legal framework on EU-wide Multimodal Travel Information Services.

Taking place on the 19 November 2018, the conference will reveal the thoughts of key stakeholders on the future of multimodal transport.

Chaired by Mr Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director-General DG MOVE, and organised as part of the 2018 Year of Multimodality, the conference responds to Violeta Bulc's call to promote the functioning of the transport sector as a fully integrated system.

Register for the conference by 12 November 2018 via the event website (registration may close early depending on the capacity of the room).
