Interreg presents good practice on sustainable urban mobility and SUMPs

Interreg Europe has released 26 good practice examples of sustainable urban mobility and SUMPs, as part of the REFORM project.

REFORM supports the implementation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), which aim to drive urban mobility towards a sustainable, low carbon future. REFORM's latest report aims to help knowledge sharing across regions, through presenting good practice and enabling stakeholders to build regional action plans.

A recent survey conducted by Oliver Wyman of 7 500 consumers across France, Italy, Germany, the US and China highlights consumer preferences for smart transportation services.

Smart mobility services are developing every year, with future-forward apps providing digital solutions to the transport issues individuals experience on a daily basis.

Cities invited to join CIVITAS urban mobility study visits

City representatives are invited to apply to join two upcoming sustainable urban mobility study visits in Bristol (UK) and Stockholm (Sweden), organised by the CIVITAS Initiative.

The first study visit will take place in Bristol from 11-14 September and will comprise of site visits, which will enable participating cities to see first-hand the exciting sustainable urban mobility and urban development initiatives in the city.

Local decision makers: join the CIVITAS Politicians' Forum to exchange on urban mobility with peers

Politicians from CIVITAS Forum Network member cities are invited to attend this year's Politicians' Forum being held at the CIVITAS Forum in Umeå.

Taking place from 09:30 to 12:00 on 20 September 2018, the meeting will gather senior officials from local authorities across Europe who are leading the way in advancing sustainable urban mobility.

Panel discussions and conversation tables give delegates the chance to interact and exchange experiences with fellow politicians on this year's meeting topic - “Citizens' involvement, urban mobility, and politics”.

New EIB financing includes sustainable transport projects

The European Investment Bank approved a total of EUR 12.6 billion of new financing for 83 projects located across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. This represents a record level of new support ever agreed at a monthly meeting of the EIB Board of Directors.

By endorsing 48 projects for EUR 6.1 billion investment guaranteed by the Investment Plan for Europe, the EIB Board will enable the Juncker Plan's European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) to exceed its original EUR 315 billion investment target.
